The Queensland 8km Cross Country Championships are being held on Saturday 17 June at CJ Greenfield Complex, Richlands.
The championship races are being held in conjunction with the Brisbane Cross Country Series: Race 7 event and will also incorporate the 78th Fox-Fogarty Memorial Trophy.
The 8km state championships will be conducted in the following age groups for male and female runners:
- UNDER 20: Athletes aged under the age of 20 as at 31-Dec-2017.
- OPEN: Open age group, typically for athletes aged 20 and above as at 31-Dec-2017.
- MASTERS: Athletes aged 35 and above (age on day). Masters athletes are separated into the following 10-year age brackets: 35-44, 45-54, 55-64 and 65+
Queensland Championships medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed runners in each age group listed above. Team medals are not awarded at these championships.
3:20 pm - 8000 m - Male U20/Open/Masters
3:25 pm - 8000 m - Female U20/Open Masters
78th FOX-FOGARTY MEMORIAL TROPHY
Athletes in the Open Men's age group will also be competing for the annual Fox-Fogarty Memorial Trophy. The 2017 champion will be presented with the perpetual trophy following the race.
HOW TO ENTER
As the championships are incorporated into the Brisbane Cross Country Series: Race 7, entries are taken on the day of the event and close 15 minutes before the start of each race.
