All athletes are invited to the 2014 Queensland Cross Country Championships that are being conducted at Rivermount College on Saturday 2 August. The Championships also includes the selection trials for the 2014 Queensland Heat Cross Country Team.

QLD HEAT TEAM SELECTION
Selections for the Queensland Athletics Cross Country Team will come from performances at the Queensland Cross Country Championships. Queensland Athletics will select 6 male and 6 female athletes in each of the following age groups: Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18. There is no restriction on total numbers in the U20 and Open age groups.

Team nominations close at midnight on Sunday 3rd August. Nominate online here.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MEDALS
Queensland State Championship medals will be awarded to the first three individual place-getters in each age group. Queensland Championship medals will also be awarded to the first three placed QA club teams in each age group. More Info

TEAMS MEDALS
A team consists of three runners who are all entered into the same age group, are the same gender and are members of the same athletics club (QA or Little A's). Athletes are automatically placed in teams according to their club and their finishing order. Athletes must indicate in their entry form the full name of the club they will be representing. More Info

CLUB POINT SCORE
The Queensland Cross Country Championships is the 5th and final round of the 2014 Queensland Cross Country Cup. Athletes registered with a QA club or Little A's centre will earn points for their club based on the place they achieve in the designated point scoring race for their age group. More Info

AGE GROUPS
Age groups are determined by the athlete’s age as at 31 December 2014 (i.e. year born), except for Masters where it is age on day. Please note this is different to how age groups are calculated for Little Athletics. The minimum age for these championships is 5 years (2009). More Info

NOT A MEMBER? - NO WORRIES!
Everyone is welcome at QA Cross Country events.
If you are not a member of Queensland Athletics or Little Athletics you just need to enter the event as a 'New Athlete'. Your entry fee will include a QA Base Membership which will allow you to compete as a member in further QA events for the remainder of the 2014 registration year.

HOW TO ENTER
Entries closed on Thursday 31 July, however, late entries will be accepted on the day and close 30 minutes before the start of each race. Late entries will incur an additional late entry fee of $5.00 per athlete..
