Whether you’re preparing for an assault on your athletics carnival, deep in winter training gearing up for a big 2017-18 or just want to get out on the track for something different, the 2nd Queensland Athletics Winter Games is exactly what you’re after.
Gone are the traditional events offered in the serious summer season, with a new refreshing “winter program” in place to get you ready for what’s ahead. Offered over the following age groups for both male and female - U14, U16, U18, U20 and Open.
The QA Winter Games will include five unique combined event titles; Sprint Title, Hurdles Title, Distance Title, Throws Title and Jumps Title.
COMPETITION DETAILS - Full event list, what is included in the titles, and rules for the competition.
DRAFT PROGRAM - available soon
As you can see by the link above, all track events offered are odd distances, perfect for a winter time trial, with the field events getting a re-imagining to fit in with the new winter concept.
The program will also include two additional winter titles - Standing Long Jump and The Cricket Ball Throw. The champions of these titles in each age group will be greeted with a traditional winner’s sash.
