Queensland Athletics extends an invitation to schools and school aged athletes to participate in the 35th QA All Schools Cross Country Championships on Saturday 6th May 2017 at Kedron State High School.

All school athletes aged 6-19 years, of all abilities, are encouraged to compete. There are no qualifying standards – everyone is welcome.

Queensland Championship medallions are awarded to individuals and school teams in each age group, with trophies for the overall top primary and secondary schools and to the top boys and girls schools.

The Championships will also act as a selection trial for the Queensland Team travelling to the Australian Cross Country Championships.

HOW TO ENTER

Entries closed on Wednesday 3 May.
Late entries will be accepted on the day up until one (1) hour before each race. Late entries cost $25.00 per student, $20.00 for QA members or $10.00 for QA Platinum Members. QA Membership is NOT required for this school competition.

CHECK-IN

On the day of the Championships, participants will need to check-in no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of their event. Upon checking-in, students will receive a race pack which will contain a bib number, safety pins and timing chip. The bib number must be attached to the front of their shirt with the safety pins provided. The timing chip must be attached to their running shoe (instructions provided in race pack).

MARSHALLING

After checking-in, students are required to marshal for their race at the tent near the start line 10 minutes before the start time of their race. Please follow the instructions of the officials at the marshalling area. Bib numbers and timing chips must be attached BEFORE reporting to the marshalling area.



Medals
Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the first three individual place-getters in each age group, and also to the first three school teams to finish.

School Teams
Three runners from the same school, in the same event/age group, constitute a team. There is no requirement to pre-nominate the three runners who make up a school team.

School Trophies
Trophies will be awarded to the overall top primary school and secondary school as well as the top girls and boys primary and secondary schools.

Queensland Team Selection
Athletes who place 1st, 2nd or 3rd at the championships in the 12yrs, 13yrs, 14yrs, 15yrs, 16yrs and 17yrs age groups will be automatic selections in the Queensland Cross Country Team. Team Selection Policy
