Are you interested in becoming an athletics official?
As an officials you can assist at your local club meets, QA Shield Meets, State and National Championships. Whether you are a former athlete looking to give back, or a parent of an athlete that wants to spend time helping rather than sitting in the grandstand watching, see below for a 'How-to Guide' to get you on your way.
There are lots of different areas that you can work in such as Photo Finish, Track, Starting, Field (Jumps and Throws) and Administration (Results, Call Room, TIC, Post Event etc)
1. Complete the online Level 0 course that can be found at the Australian Sports Commission website by following this link https://learning.ausport.gov.au/auth/login/?returnUrl=%2F
2. Contact Queensland Athletics to advise that you wish to start assisting as an Official at upcoming events and start looking at and completing the online Level 1 online courses
3. By completing the Level 1 Exams and starting to do practical officiating at meets under the supervision of current officials you are on your way.

Queensland Athletics is also holding an Officials Muster on Saturday October 13th, prior to the first Shield Meet of the season. You are invited to attend if you are interested in officiating for the 2018-2019 season.
