Athletics Australia has announced Sydney as the host venue for the 2021 Australian Track & Field Championships, taking place from April 12-19.
Registrations
Registrations will close at 9am the Monday following Queensland State Championships. To simplify processes Queensland Athletics will move away from the previous two stage process of Nominating and Registering and trial a one stage Registration process.
You can only complete the team registration once, please wait if you believe you might qualify in another event for Nationals as you can't add extra events once the form is completed.
NB: Registering for Nationals without meeting qualification standards will result in a NON-REFUNDABLE AA Entry Fee ($30) as well as $30 Administration/Transaction fees. If you are unsure about these critical notes please call Qld Athletics on 07 2111 5135 or email shanen.layden@qldathletics.org.au
The team levy for Junior athletes (U14-U20) will be $100. Base members are required to pay a $100 National Permit fee ontop of the team levy.
Uniform
Uniforms are all ordered online through the Queensland Athletics website, all orders need to be completed by the 20th of March in order to be received on time for the Championships. The only compulsory uniform is competition (shorts and singlet/crop) - other uniform is optional.
Accommodation
Queensland Athletics will not be offering accommodation packages in 2021.
Combined Events Championships
The 2021 Australian Combined Events Championships (U15-U18) will be held in Victoria on the 23rd and 24th of March 2021.
COVID RESTRICTIONS
Should the current capacity permitted for NSW (and therefore SOPAC) be reduced, the following may be implemented, pending the level of restriction imposed and associated risks:
• Spectator restrictions
• Timetable changes across sessions and if absolutely necessary, days
• Events relocated to a secondary venue
• Tightening of qualification standards
• Postponement or cancellation of Championships
Therefore, it is imperative that all attendees (athletes, families, coaches and officials) are strongly encouraged to only book refundable travel.
