Motivation: I have always been motivated to be the best possible version of myself and have always been incredibly competitive in everything I do. This may be because I’ve had my Dad coach me from an early age and his sporting work ethics have rubbed off on me, but equally I know if I work hard, I will reap the rewards. This doesn’t just go for athletics but also for league, union and weightlifting that I compete in. Also by training hard and qualifying for events like Nationals, it means that I get to travel around Australia and catch up with friends from other states that I have made over the past few years.
Inspiration: I don’t necessarily have one individual person that is my inspiration as I’m a great admirer of everyone that has been successful in their discipline/chosen sport. I have however been very fortunate to receive mentoring from close friends of my Dad’s that have been successful in their chosen sport (Mick Jones former Commonwealth Hammer Champion and Andy Saxton former Commonwealth Weightlifting Champion) and I always find myself more motivated once I’ve had a session with them knowing that they are sharing their knowledge with me and have given up their time to help guide me on my sporting journey.
Random fact: At the tender age of just 2 years, I was able to climb to the top of a gym rope on my own (and get down of course!), much to the shock of my gym teacher! I can also throw further than my Dad with the 25lb weight throw!

Motivation: My main motivation is watching the hard work and sacrifices put in the sport pay off with my results. Ultimately, I would love to be able to rep the green and gold at the Commonwealth Games and Olympics further down the track.
Inspiration: My main inspiration is Genevieve Gregson - she is such a humble athlete who grew up nearby to me and in fact used to race against my sister at many regional and state meets. Not only is she an amazing athlete and steeplechaser in particular, she is my role model both on and off the track as she shows that with consistency, hard work and determination you can reach elite levels.
Random fact: I have a sister who is 8 years older then me, and she is the reason I started running in the first place. She also was 5-time National Champion for the Steeplechase and 1500m.

Inspiration: Seeing people reach success after putting substantial amounts of time into their chosen craft. There’s nothing like putting a goal out there for everyone to see and then achieving that goal despite challenges that may be faced along the way.

Motivation: Athletics provides the ultimate challenge as you basically spent your life trying to better your best times. Therefore it is something that everyone can challenge themselves with whether you are an elite athlete or just love competing for your club. I have been selected to compete for Australia 7 times and love competing for my country. It is the ultimate test as an athlete. I cherish my two bronze world championship medals but it is always the hunt for gold that keeps getting you out of bed everyday to train.
Inspiration: As an indigenous athlete I try to show people that hard work helps you achieve amazing things. I hope to inspire youth to have a go. As a little girl I watched Cathy Freeman win gold in Sydney and this is my favourite moment in sport. It inspired me to have a go. My other inspiration is my coach who goes above and beyond for me to help me achieve my sporting and life goals.
Random fact: At Nitro Athletics in Melbourne I competed for China. Not bad for an indigenous Aussie girl!

Motivation: The thing that motivates me about doing athletics is that I love the feeling of being on the track or field when competing and love socialising with other people and I do not feel any different from anyone else. Also the fact that I represented Australia at the INAS Global Games in 2019 in the Heptathlon - I would love to represent Australia again. I love how inclusive athletics is as I find it difficult because of my autism and intellectual impairment and people clapped when you finish a race even if you finished dead last.
Inspiration: The thing that inspiration me to keep going with athletics is my coach Tom Bradbury. He believes I can do It even when I find it difficult to at times and some of the other athletes that were at the INAS Global Games with me such as Drew Simmons and Stephanie Schweitzer.
Random fact: One fact about me is that I absolutely love cats and I foster kittens through the RSPCA. When I'm competing in summer it's kitten season so I have to drive to Brisbane and back to Toowoomba to look after them as well as training.

Motivation: My motivation is after being self taught for three years I have learnt to wait for your time and good things will come. After working off from YouTube and the internet and kept on grinding each and everyday by myself without any assistance for three years, it has finally paid off because I won two silver medals at the school state champs last year and went to my first ever all schools nationals. So what motivates me to keep on going is always learning new things and exploring new ideas to help me throw further each week.
Inspiration: What inspired me to start athletics was my mum as she is the biggest supporter in my throwing career. Also what inspired me was that I got an opportunity to get coached by Matt Denny and after two sessions I learnt so much and I will always be grateful for him coaching me.
Random fact: Before every competition I go to, I watch shot put or discus videos to get me in the zone. Also I like to go somewhere quiet and do some breathing techniques to relax myself.

Inspiration: One of my biggest inspirations of all time would have to be Cathy Freeman who is one of the kindest people who was able to work hard for her goals and show what could be done against adversity. Morgan Mitchell would have to be another inspiration of mine after her transition from the 400m to the 800m. It does go to show that things like that are more than possible.
Random fact: If it wasn’t athletics and where that has taken me, I would of pursued tae-kwon-do competitively after having been in the sport for over 6 years.

Inspiration: I am inspired by throwers Johannes Vetter and Robert Harting in javelin and discus. I enjoyed training and competing alongside the 2018 commonwealth games athletes from Great Britain, Grenada, Wales and Scotland while they were training at out track. I also got to watch these athletes compete and one win Gold in the mens decathlon at the Gold Coast Commonwealth games. These athletes inspired me with their attitudes and encouragement.
Random fact: I can shoot hoops in basketball backwards from half court. I also do swimming, volleyball and tennis.

Motivation: I love my sport. It's always a huge help keeping motivated when I train, throw and drill for fun. I enjoy every second of it, the good and the bad. Another huge motivator is trying to prove myself wrong. I find myself constantly telling myself that I won't be as good as the worlds best athlete's, but in reality I don't need to be, I need to be the best that I can be. So I'm constantly trying to disprove the voice in my head saying "I can't do it." And a third: I represented Australia for the first time last year and it was incredible. I'd love the opportunity to do it again. I train 150% with the thought of representing our country again in the back of my mind.
Inspiration: When I was around 12, my Little Athletics coach told me that I would never throw over 30m in Discus unless I started spinning. So I hopped on YouTube, had a look at what to do and from there on I was always improving. Once I got a proper throws coach, my ability sky rocketed and I'm forever greatful for the both of them. Without them, I wouldn't even be close to where I am today. Another huge inspiration in my life is my best friend Brad. He has Cerebral Palsy, and he tackles it every day. His ability to push through that huge life obstacle inspires me to never take anything for granted, to never give up and to always push through life's hardships.
Random fact: I'm possibly the worlds biggest nerd. I'm a huge fan of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and the list goes on. I love Eminem. I also have a guilty pleasure for One Direction.

Inspiration: The Inside Running Podcast boys. They all are great runners but with normal jobs. I guess they showed me you don’t have to be super elite to continue to run after school and university. I also look up to the greats of Aussie distance running - Mottram, Willis and the up and coming Stewy Mac.
Random fact: I have the fastest time in the world for my age (11-14 years) for Parkrun. I ran 15:12 the day before my 15th birthday! I also started a Youtube Channel on my life during this strange time! You should definitely check it out.

Motivation: I've always dreamt of crossing the line first while representing Australia. Even the opportunity to represent Australia with so many quality upcoming runners performing so well would be a dream come true. The idea of running a sub-4-minute mile as well as a sub 3:35 1500m and sub 1:45 800m keeps me training as hard as I can.
Inspiration: I look up to Adam Fogg and Craig Engels for inspiration. Both of these guys are ready to win big races all around the world and I strive to be at their level. I love Morgan McDonald, Stewy Mac, and Peter Bol because they can create an atmosphere on and off the track. I've always looked up to some of the greats like Cathy Freeman and Craig Mottram.
Random fact: I actually started off as a sprinter running under the guidance of my school coach before starting middle/long-distance running in 2017. I won my first state title at the end of 2017 and haven't stopped running since! I also have a YouTube channel about my life as a developing student-athlete called The Tyney Exclusive which is definitely worth checking out.

Inspiration: Although she only recently changed to my event, Morgan Mitchell has been an inspiration for me since I can remember. The athleticism that she displays both on and off the track has inspired me and motived me to become a greater athlete in my chosen events
Random fact: In my junior athletics years, I was a speedy little sprinter and a springy little jumper - now I can't do either to save myself!

Motivation: I just want to be the best I can be and push my limits in training and on the track, so I can look back and not have any regrets knowing I've given it my all and that I've run as fast as I could.
Inspiration: I look up to Rohan Browing and Jack Hale, they've proven that with hard work and determination it is possible as an Australian to run elite times. All the people in the athletics community, my squad and the boys I compete with inspire me as well. At the end of the day they're the ones lining up next to me and pushing me that little bit harder.
Random fact: I'm 17 and I've only been training for 10 months and in that time I became 5th in Australia for U18 100m and dropped from a 11.5 to 10.6 second 100m. It's never too late to start!

Motivation: The feeling of pushing myself ,finding new limits every time during training and competition and feeling limitless, keeps me going. At the end of the day i want to see just how fast i can actually run.
Inspiration: As a kid I've always looked up to Usain Bolt. I liked the fact that although he was behind at the start he would come home on everyone. I got envious of his speed and it made me strive to be the fastest, it makes me aspire to prove my worth as the greatest sprinter i can be.
Random fact: I didn't take track serious till i was 15 and i used to do distance running for fun when i was younger.

Motivation: I love running fast and I hate losing - at anything. Training isn’t a chore because I love athletics and I am surrounded by motivated and talented athletes. I want to be able to consistently run a sub 10s 100m and a sub 20s 200m, and one day I hope to be an Olympic Champion.
Inspiration: Usain Bolt and Alex Hartmann. The World and Australian 200m GOATs. Bolt gave me a fist bump at Nitro Athletics in Melbourne when I was still small, and Alex inspires me every day that we train together.
Random fact: My Great Aunty is an Olympic Silver medalist in High Jump and a member of the Athletics Hall of Fame. It’s great that I can run fast, because my standing LJ is almost longer than my running one.

Random fact: I am Fijian and have been living in Brisbane since 2017. I broke my collarbone playing rugby 3 weeks before the Qld State Champs, but managed to run and come third in the 200m finals to make Qld State Rep for 2020. I found out that two of my competitors in the same race also played rugby for different clubs and we had actually played against each other before.
