The 1500m Classic is back at QSAC

Since its inception in 2004, the UQ Sport 1500m Classic has been a regular fixture on the Queensland Athletics calendar.

The event consists of only 1500m races, with more than 250 athletes entered across over 20 events for school-age, masters, race walking, and elite-level competitors.

The UQ Sport Athletics Track closes for a re-lay and resurface in mid-October so the 2022 edition of the event will be hosted by the UQ Athletics Club at the State Athletics Facility, Nathan.

In 2022, a minimum prize pool of $2000 will be on offer to placegetters across both the Men’s & Women’s 1500m Classic races.  Vouchers and plaques will be presented to place getters in the other divisional race.

Entry Fee is $25.00, and registrations will open on 19th September. Draft timetable coming soon.

All UQ Sport 1500m Classic competitors must be registered with Queensland Athletics, or another State Athletic Association. Athletes not registered with Queensland Athletics are able to pay an additional $12 with their entry by clicking here.
