The Jai Taurima Shield celebrates the achievements of one of Australia's most iconic athletes. Performing on the biggest stage known to man, Taurima captivated the nation at the Sydney 2000 Olympics, going toe-to-toe with Long Jump legend Ivan Pedroso. He leapt to a new Australian record of 8.49m but was passed on his last attempted by the Cuban Pedroso who went on to win in 8.55m.
