1500M CLASSIC SPONSORED BY IMPI SPORTSWEAR
The 1500m Classic returns to its traditional home at the UQ Sport Track on Thursday, October 26th, 2023
Since its inception in 2004, the UQ Sport 1500m Classic has been a regular fixture on the Queensland Athletics calendar.
The event consists of only 1500m races, with more than 250 athletes entered across over 20 events for school-age, masters, race walking, and elite-level competitors.
The UQ Sport Athletics Track has re-opened after receiving a re-lay and a resurface earlier in the year. The new surface should be conducive to some fast running.
In 2023, a minimum prize pool of $2000 will be on offer to placegetters across both the Men’s &
Women’s 1500m Classic races. Vouchers or products and plaques will be presented to place-getters in the other divisional races.
Race Entry
Entry Fee
$25.00
Race entry will open on September 20th. Please consult the Proposed Program, but the
final Program will depend on the number of entries received. Please Note the event has a
Athletics Australia Permit.

Association. Athletes not registered with Queensland Athletics are able to pay an additional $12
with their entry, which will give them Base Membership with Queensland Athletics.

The century old Surf Lifesaving 90m Beach Sprint was first run in 1919. But... how does it compare to 100m Track times on Mondo Rubber OR Grass? After over 100 years, we are about to find out. A 100m Beach Sprint SLAM provides a pathway for the best of World Athletics to WIN THE TRACK SLAM. The event will be timed and for track consistency will be held at the same venue each year with both wind and track measured for records.
